Reason for Investigation Request
The tenant living on this property contacted us to investigate the strange phenomena happening both in the house as well as on the grounds. Paranormal activity began on the property in September of 2006, although the area surrounding the house is notoriously rumored to be haunted. Several apparitions have been witnessed outside by the tenant's fiance and son. Audible phenomena include knocking sounds coming from walls, whispering/moaning of a woman, and footsteps are heard through out the house, even in the upstairs apartment when it is not being rented. TVs and lights reportedly turn on and off on their own. One of the locks on the main door has many times been seen and heard turning back and forth by an unseen hand. Pictures in the dining area and utensils hung on the wall of kitchen have also moved/fallen on their own.
Research and Background on the Property
The natural ravine area that housed the nearby Stillwater Prison is known as the “Battle Grounds” and/or “Battle Hollow”. It got its name from an Indian battle fought there in July 1839, when the Sioux pursued a Chippewa party to the river that both nations used as a highway and fired into their camp in the ravine. Tax records show this house to have been built in 1898, although we are uncertain if those records are correct. Maps of Stillwater from 1879 show a house built in the same location, but our research department could not find any permits or records of the house shown in 1879 being torn down or another house being built in the same plot of land. No known recorded deaths on the property could be found.

Final Analysis
