TCPS had six members who participated in this night’s investigation. We were also joined by Kelley, the owner of the Palmer House, and an employee who worked at the hotel at the time. The basement of the Palmer proved to have some activity for our team. One group investigating down there received responses to questions on the EMF meter. This same group also heard noises coming from the stairs leading up to the Pub area. Explanations for these sounds could not be found nor did they seem to be coming from the Pub. The group also noted they had a sickening sensation when they went to check out where the noises were coming from near the stairs. Upon leaving this area of the basement, the group saw wet footprints on the floor in an area where they did not walk in the room. There was a small leak from one of the pipes that attributed to a wet puddle on the floor which is where the footprints began. The footprints seemed to be leading out of the room. This group was the first group to investigate the basement and no employees went down to the basement that night. No one else entered or left the room while the group was investigating. Later when we inspected the footprints, they appeared to be much smaller than either of the investigators who found them. The footprints seemed to be that of a young child or petite woman. (It should be noted that this is not the first time we have found wet footprints in the basement. During one of our previous investigation in January, a similar incident occurred. One team found wet footprints in the same area of the basement but these prints were much larger than any of the investigators present that night.) The next group to investigate the basement also heard noises and movements from the same stairs under the Pub. They could not find an explanation for the sounds either and noted that the Pub area was empty as it had closed about an hour before they went down there. While investigating the stair area more, one of the members from this team had her hair pulled.
The first team to investigate the Main Floor of the Palmer House noted hearing voices from within the Dining Room. None of the members of the team were talking at the time nor did anyone hear or see anyone pass by outside of the building. Interestingly, upon reviewing video from this round in the dining room, we caught what sounds like a male voice on the camera. This team had left the dining room to investigate the Pub about 15 minutes prior to the voice on the video. Although this is obviously not the same voice the team heard with their ears, it does give more credence to their personal experience. Another group which investigated the Dining Room and Lobby area received numerous answers on the EMF meter when asking questions in an attempt to communicate with any spirits there. This team also experienced multiple camera malfunctions during the time the EMF meter was spiking in response to the questions. The last group to investigate the Dining Room also reported hearing a muffled conversation coming from the kitchen area. About three minutes after hearing these voices, they heard what sounded like something had fallen in the kitchen. Upon inspecting the kitchen to find something out of place to have caused the noise, they could not see or notice anything that looked like it would have fallen.
Not much activity occurred on the second floor of the Palmer. One member from a team investigating Room 11 did experience chills, which seemed to be coming up from the floor by the bed. These chills continued up onto her arm. We could not find the source of the cold or draft which could have caused the member to have chills and no temperature changes in the room were noticed on the thermometer. Another member from the same team saw what appeared to be a dark shadow pass over in between her and the other member who was sitting on the bed. The shadow quickly disappeared and no changes in either the thermometer or EMF meters were found immediately after the shadow dissipated. The team also reported hearing or seeing no vehicles pass by the windows at the time either.
While investigating the third floor of the Hotel, one team member experienced a warm tingly feeling on his shoulders while sitting on the bed in Room 17. He stated the feeling was very tense and then it was gone. Other members from different teams also experienced different physical sensations while investigating Room 17. Two members from one team felt extreme pressure on the sides of their head. One of these members also had a warmth sensation go up her back that could not be explained. No temperature changes were noticed on the thermometer at the time this occurred.
Final Analysis
The evidence and experiences we have gathered from our numerous investigations at this location prove to us this site is indeed haunted by multiple spirits. TCPS will continue to investigate the Palmer House Hotel for as long as we are welcome there.
